How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Results of 3DEEP FSR can be seen as quickly as one week following a single treatment. Additional skin improvement is noticed over time, with continuous improvement up to 3 months after treatment. Expect at least 4 treatments for more damaged skin or acne scars.

What Can I Expect After My FSR Treatment?

Your skin will be red following treatment, but this will disappear within 2 to 3 hours. You may feel as though you have a mild sunburn. The treatment area can be covered with makeup about 30 minutes after treatment. After 2 days, you may notice small crusts on the treated area. These are easily covered with makeup and will resolve naturally in 5-7 days after treatment. Within one week after treatment, your skin will show the benefits of a brighter, smoother look. Four weeks after treatment, a collagen remodeling process will start leading to longer term improvements in the condition of your skin.

How Long Will My Results Last?

The improvement in skin quality should be long lasting, however proper skin care and sun protection will help to preserve results. We recommend one treatment every 6 months as a follow up to maintain the results. Call today to schedule a free consultation. We are excited to answer your questions and further explain how the EnyMed 3Deep Fractional Skin Resurfacing treatments can benefit your skin. You will be on your way to brighter, smoother skin.

Who Is A Candidate For Laser Hair Removal?

The ideal candidate has light skin and dark hair. At Smooth Assurance, we use the Candela Gentlelase laser. We can safely treat lighter skin types, also known as Fitzpatrick skin types I through IV. Because the laser targets the pigment in the hair, white and gray hair cannot successfully be treated. Blonde and red hair can be treated, but with less results. Very dark skin types cannot be treated with the Candela Gentlelase due to risks of burns. At Smooth Assurance, we do not perform laser treatments on pregnant women. If you have a history of.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

During the treatment, the light from the laser travels through the skin and is absorbed by the hair follicle, causing damage to the follicle and impairing its ability for regrowth. There are three stages of hair growth: active, transitional, and resting. Not all hair is in the active phase at the same time. Because only hair that is in the active growth phase is affected by the laser, multiple treatments are required to achieve desired results. At Smooth Assurance, your laser treatments will be performed by a certified laser hair removal professional who is also a registered nurse. Close attention will be given to your skin type to assure you get the best results while maintaining your safety.

Does The Treatment Hurt?

Most clients say that the pulse from the laser feels like being popped with a rubber band. The Candela Gentlelase laser sprays a coolant on the skin milliseconds before each pulse for patient comfort. A topical anesthetic can be applied 30 to 45 minutes prior to treatment for a small additional charge, depending on the size of the area being treated.

How Do I Prepare?

You must avoid excessive UV exposure for at least 4 weeks before treatment and during the course of the treatments. Spray tanning should also be avoided. For laser hair removal, you need your normal skin tone with minimal sun exposure. Treating tanned skin can lead to hyper pigmentation (darkening of the skin) or hypo pigmentation (lightening of the skin). The area must be shaved the day of treatment. If there is a lot of hair on the surface of the skin, the laser energy will be absorbed there and can lead to burns Plucking, waxing, and tweezing in the targeted area must be avoided for 3 weeks prior to treatment. If the hair has been pulled out, the laser will not be able to target that follicle. The treatment area will need to be free of lotions, deodorant and makeup. You may wash these off prior to treatment in our office. We also need to be informed of any photosensitive medication you may be taking.

What Will Results From Laser Hair Removal Be Like?

Following a treatment, expect the area to be slightly red and there should be a small amount of swelling around the hair follicle. This may last a few hours to a few days. The hairs that were treated will fall out in 2 to 3 weeks. You can help this shedding process by lightly rubbing the area with a wet wash cloth or using a mild scrub. New hair will begin to grow usually within 3 weeks. The treated area may feel as if you have a mild sunburn for a day or so.
